Curing Video Game Addiction

Are you a Video Game Addict?

Are you a couch potato? Do you spend hours in your comfortable chair playing your favorite video games? You think it’s not that bad as long as you have a good Human Paladin level. You realize that you haven’t had a bath in a while and that your clothes are starting to smell. You think an Orc Berserker smells worse. You took a quick look around your pad, and you were shocked at how filthy and disorganized it was. You shrugged it off, realizing that there are worse places than the Frozen Undead Realms. Your friends finally resentfully dismissed you for not spending enough time with them. This is the last straw of irritation.

This might seem like an exaggerated sign that Video Game Addiction is occurring, but it’s true that there are some video game addicts who have such extreme reactions to untoward events, some even commit suicide.

Video game addiction can be described as excessive or compulsive gaming that disrupts daily life. Despite symptoms that are similar to other addictions, videogame addiction has not been assigned a diagnosis by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. These behaviors include inability to quit playing video games, difficulty in school and work, lying to loved one, decreased personal hygiene, diminished attention to family members and friends, and disruptions in the sleeping cycle.

Let’s not forget to be optimistic. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you are a victim of a videogame addiction. It’s possible to get out of this addiction, but it will require a lot of effort and willpower.

Steps to “Curing” Video Gaming Addiction

There is currently no treatment or approved method to cure video gaming addiction. There are ways that a videogame addict can help to relieve their addiction. These are some suggestions:

Limit your GAME TIME.

You can set a time and duration that you will be playing your gaming system. Your gaming time should be limited to no more than 1-2 hours per day. Although it may seem difficult at first, once your body adapts to the idea, it will become a routine daily activity. To make it easier for yourself to adapt, you can think of your game time as a reward when you do other activities.

Tell your family members, friends, and siblings that you plan to restrict your gaming time. You should give them a timetable for the gaming schedule that you are following. This will allow them to easily monitor your gaming habits and check on you. Visit:-

You can limit your gaming time to make it easier to do other things, and also to correct your biological clock which is prone to playing for long periods of time.

Get rid of your GAME MACHINES.

If you really want to end your addiction to video games and are determined to succeed, there is only one way to go- get rid of your GAME MACHINES. These machines could be video game consoles or mobile games machines. Whatever the reason, dispose of them as soon as you can so you don’t feel tempted to keep them.

These consoles can be sold at a fair price to friends or local shops. It is possible to keep it hidden in your attic, or anywhere else that isn’t easily accessible. It can be given away to family members or friends, such as your nieces or nephews. Give it away to someone far from you if you’re giving it away.

Only dispose of the game machines you have. Tell your family and friends that you have decided to dispose of your games machines and are turning a new page.

Other activities.

You will notice that there is an activity vacuum, regardless of whether you choose the second or the first suggestion. This can lead to a reduction in gaming time and the disposal of your gaming consoles. You will have plenty of time to do new activities, just like the ones you did before.

Study Now is the time to catch up on your unattended studies and failing grades. Now you can review your notes and prepare for the big quizzes. You can start to open your school books, but don’t allow the bookworms to get the best out of them. A good education is more valuable than a good game.

Read. As long as the article isn’t a strategy guide or FAQ for your favorite game, reading can be a great and enjoyable way to keep up with the latest news. You will be amazed at the amount of news you missed by reading the newspaper. You might also be able to read books in the library.

Hangout – Hang out with your family and friends. After a long period of being isolated with your gaming console, it is time to get to know them again. Chat with them and ask about their lives. Be humble enough to forgive them if you take them for granted.

It doesn’t matter how many methods or suggestions are offered for riding or curing your video gaming addiction. They won’t work unless you commit to changing yourself. These suggestions can only be made successful by DEDICATION AND MOTIVATION.
